Biography:
Amit Kumar, is a 5th year PhD scholar at CSIR-Institute of Himalayan Bioresource Technology, Palampur, India. His research focuses on aeroponic cultivation of Himalayan medicinal plants, particularly Valeriana jatamansi. He has expertise in plant tissue culture, elicitor applications, antioxidant activity analysis, phytochemical profiling using HPLC and GC-MS techniques and gene expression analysis related to medicinal plant metabolite biosynthesis. He has published 4 research articles, 2 review articles and 6 book chapters in the field of in vitro cultures of medicinal plants. His research work aims to develop sustainable cultivation strategies for high-value Himalayan medicinal plants.
