Carlos Ruiz-Garvia is a graduate of Forest Engineering (University of Concepción, Chile), has a Ph. Projects (Stetson University, USA). Throughout his career, he worked for various agencies, and was Director of Operations for Accreditation Services International GmbH (ASI).
He joined the United Nations Climate Change Secretariat (UNFCCC) more than 7 years ago, where he is currently responsible for coordinating the work of the Regional Collaboration Centers (CRC) for Latin America and the Caribbean. Since the Paris Agreements in 2015, the CRCs support the development and implementation of National Determined Contributions (NDCs) and related climate action under that concept, in addition to disseminating the benefits of Clean Development Mechanisms (CDM).
