About William Norbert Tueguem Kuate

Dr. William Norbert Kuate Tueguem is a Cameroonian independent researcher and phytopathologist specialized in plant biotechnology, phytopathology, and plant protection. He holds a PhD in Plant Biotechnology, with specialization in Phytopathology and Plant Protection. His research career has focused on understanding plant pathogen interactions and developing innovative approaches to improve crop resistance to diseases. His research has particularly explored the role of brassinosteroids in the regulation of plant immunity and disease resistance, using maize and rice as important crop models. His scientific interests include plant immunity, hormonal regulation of defense responses, crop disease resistance, plant biotechnology, integrated plant protection, and sustainable agricultural production under environmental and climatic constraints. Dr. Kuate Tueguem has contributed to more than ten scientific publications and has experience in research, teaching, and agricultural sciences. His current research interests are directed toward the development of climate resilient crop protection strategies for tropical Africa, with particular emphasis on the hormonal regulation of plant defense and the integration of biological, biochemical, and conventional approaches to disease management. His current research perspective is summarized by the theme: “Hormonal regulation of plant immunity for climate resilient maize and rice production in tropical Africa.”
