Abstract:

Recent advancements in nanotechnology have opened exciting possibilities for enhancing agricultural practices, particularly through the use of nano-fertilizers. These nano-sized fertilizers, including Nano Phosphorus, Nano- Potassium Nano-Zinc, and Nano Urea etc. offer several advantages over traditional fertilizers. They are designed to improve nutrient uptake by plants and enhance nutrient release efficiency, leading to better growth and higher yields. Nano-fertilizers have shown potential in promoting plant health by improving germination, root development, and even stress resistance. However, to fully unlock their potential, there is a need to optimize their application for various environmental conditions and soil types.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of potassium nanoparticles (KNPs) synthesized by different synthesis methods and their impact on plant growth and nutrient uptake. An extensive analysis was conducted to determine the physicochemical properties of KNPs and evaluate their biological impact on plants. Standardized analytical methods were used for the evaluation of effectiveness and thorough crop studies. 
A Pot experiment was conducted during Rabi session 2025 with biosynthesized Potassium Nano Particles at CAGE HOUSE located CORDET Premises with the various crops. Potassium Nanoparticles produced in our Laboratory using different kind of biological reducing agents. All the recent studies for both green synthesis and biosynthesis were deeply analysed for the selection of two most effective and efficient bio-compounds for the size reduction, nano formulation and adequate potassium uptake.

In the present study Potassium (K NPs) nanoparticles synthesized from Plant extract and biotic protein were used as nanoparticle synthesis. Potassium Nitrate (KNO3) treated with biotic protein and plant extract for preparing K NPs and were procured from Sigma-Aldrich (Sigma-Aldrich Chemical Co, St. Louis, MO, USA). The prepared nanomaterial was characterized by using a dynamic light scattering (DLS) technique (Malvern Zeta sizer Nano-ZS model, Malvern, UK), according to our published protocol was used for optical absorption measurements of prepared K NPs. For further advance characterization Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM- delong instruments LVEM 5) and FTIR (Model No. Interspec 200-X) was used.

Biography:

Dr. Indira Rathore is senior scientist working at nano research lab, Indian Farmer Fertilizer Cooperative Limited, India. She did her M. Sc. and PhD degree in chemistry and Agricultural chemistry from Jai Narayan Vyas University, Jodhpur and Central Arid Zone Research Institute, Jodhpur, ICAR New Delhi. After Ph.D. she started to synthesize Nano material use under post-doctoral research study granted by “Women Scientist scheme”, University Grant Commission New Delhi, India. Currently, she is working on production of Bio nano fertilizer and improvement of soil health, soil fertility, and microbiology, enzymology, lab development and supervised to her researcher.  She is involving with R&D since 2005 with various capacities. Trained about 60 people for biosynthesis to different Nano-nutrients for agricultural use.
