The three main classes of plant hormones are gibberellins, auxins, and cytokinins. Gibberellins are responsible for promoting cell elongation and stem growth, as well as the promotion of flowering and seed germination. Auxins are involved in the regulation of root growth, stem growth, and the promotion of fruit set. Cytokinins are involved in the promotion of cell division and stem growth, as well as the promotion of chloroplast development.
